Turner Optimization
Completely configurable to model machinery
and fine-tune operation
Includes parameters to:
- model the estimated accuracy of the turner machinery
- control the points to start and end turning log
- control the angle to turn logs with normal sweep
- set number of possible turn orientations for the
optimizer to consider (up to 64)
- control turning for defect
Optimization can be driven 3 ways
Includes parameters to control whether optimizer decisions:
- cut the best cant downstream
- minimize the effects of sweep on feeding
- choose the solution with the highest monetary value
- Sweep definitions are configurable
- Includes parameters to adjust the definitions of:
"pistol grip" sweep too small to consider
sweep so extreme that value and cant considerations
are overridden
- Pattern optimization features mode to run on fixed
pattern primary breakdown machine modeling
- "Reoptimization" features allow off-line
analysis
- 3-D log images can be saved to files for later off-line
"re-optimization"
- Off-line and on-line results are identical, allowing
for fine-tuning of settings without risking real wood
