Twin Line Infeed
Twin Line feed systems are available for log
lengths from 4 feet up to 20 feet. The infeeds can be combined
with linear scanning as the logs move logitudinal or they
can be scanned with snap shot systems.
Scanning in 2D or 3D is available and determined
by your needs.
Sharp Chain Feeds
Sharp chain feeds are offered with
three basic chain types.
- 81 Xh chain with weld on tooth attachments used in smaller
operations with feed rates up to 200 FPM
- Sharp chain #160 roller chain with extended side bars
for chain guidance and top tooth profile used in small log
mills, high feed rates, small logs
- Cast steel chain, a heavy duty construction for high production
mills, high feed rates, and larger logs.
- Appropriate top hold down and side press rolls
Single Length Infeed
In applications where logs are already oriented.
In some applications a multi scan zone optimizing system is
added to perform scan and set as well as side shift instructions
for the primary brake down machinery. It is equipped with
chain flights in a stair like tooth profile. The chain is
guided on the bottom by a V shaped rail and transports the
log in a straight line.
Double Length Infeed
This infeed is used after a log turner or sometimes
has a log turner integrated. It provides full 3D scanning
and can be made to skew a slew to optimize recovery.
Tube Style Log Turner
This log tuner is used where the piece count
is not high. It consists of one set of two turning rolls and
a sharp chain or axe chain. The rollers will hold the log
s off the chain and the operator can rotate the log to the
desired orientation. Then the operator will lower the log
onto the sharp chain to feed the log towards the primary breakdown
machine.
Flying Log Turner
This is a manual way of turning logs
on the fly. It is not very accurate but is an inexpensive
way of log rotation.
Linear Log Turner
The linear log turner is usually coupled with
a 2D or 3D scanner optimizer. It executes the solution provided
by the optimizer. The vertically sliding rolls are mounted
on a concentric closing pivot frame controlled either by stacked
cylinders or linear positioning cylinders. This turner allows
accurate turning at high feed rates. For top end performance
the spike rollers can be doubled up. This ensured a more positive
contact of the spike rolls with the log as knots humps and
bumps are passing by.
Banana Infeeds
Banana infeeds are used to feed twin
canters. To eliminate sniping on the end of the log a set
of spike roller is installed between the banana infeed and
the canter.
